Methodology
- Data source: Public summary archive at /summary. Each summary is created when a user submits a YouTube URL through the web app or Chrome extension and the AI generates a paragraph plus key points.
- Language detection: Determined from the video's caption track at summary time (manual subtitles preferred, falling back to YouTube auto-generated captions). Stored as ISO-639-1 two-letter code.
- Refresh cadence: Page is regenerated hourly via Next.js ISR. Numbers reflect the database state at last regeneration, not real-time.
- Excluded from totals: Summaries with empty/unrecognized video titles (records where the YouTube metadata fetch failed). All public /summary pages are included.
- License: Statistics on this page are released under CC BY 4.0. If you cite us, please link back to summarizer.tube/data.
