The website is the canonical place to summarize a video by pasting a URL. The extension is a convenience layer: it adds a summarize button directly on the YouTube watch page so you do not need to copy-paste URLs. Both produce the same summary; both share the same daily quota.
Will the extension slow down YouTube?▾
No. The extension only activates when you click the summarize button. Until then, it does nothing on the page. Page load time and video playback are unaffected.
