The panel loads every comment — replies included — before you search. YouTube only shows what you have scrolled to, which is why its own Ctrl+F finds so little.

The panel asks the same internal endpoint the YouTube page itself asks, from the page itself. No account, no analytics, no comment stored. The only thing that ever reaches us is a feedback message you type and send.
Frequently asked
How is this different from Ctrl+F on the page?
Ctrl+F searches what the browser has rendered — usually the first twenty comments. This extension loads the entire comment section first, replies included, and then searches. On a video with 3,000 comments the difference is the whole point.
Can I search YouTube comments by user?
Yes. There is a separate author field: type a username and the list narrows to that person's comments on this video. You can combine it with a keyword search.
Can it find my own comment history across YouTube?
No, and this is worth being clear about because it is the most common thing people search for. The extension works on the video you are watching — it cannot see your account history on other videos. For your own comments across YouTube, use YouTube's own history page.
Does it work on live streams?
A live stream has live chat rather than comments, so there is nothing to search yet. Once the stream ends and the recording appears, its comments become searchable like any other video. For the chat itself we have a separate tool.
Why does the counter show fewer comments than YouTube?
YouTube counts replies inside its total. The panel loads top-level comments first and pulls replies on demand, so the numbers converge as replies load. The counter always shows both figures so you can see exactly where you are.
Is it really free?
Yes — no account, no limits, no paid tier. It costs us nothing to run because it never touches our servers: the comments come straight from YouTube to your browser.
Which browsers does it support?
Chrome and Chromium browsers that support Manifest V3 extensions — Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc. It is not available for Safari or Firefox.
